Roudaina held a successful workshop on Sustainable Cities at University College London. The Green Economy Society had kindly invited to the workshop, which was attended by students from different disciplines. Roudaina threw light on how sustainability emerged as thought and UN goals for sustainability.

She presented examples on sustainable city strategies, including Copenhagen/Denmark, Hafencity, Hamburg/Germany, Bad Kissingen/Germany and London Borough of Hackney/UK. Examples on sustainable urban development tools used for assessing master plans and urban development areas were also presented.

The students discussed in groups projects they had selected beforehand, including housing projects in areas exposed to natural disasters in Chile, a comprehensive bicycle system for London and the Battersea Park development site in London. It was inspiring to discuss with the students and to explore challenges related to the use of the sustainability tools.
