New Year Wishes 2016

I would like to wish you a very happy and productive New Year.

For me 2015 has been special and intense: It has been a sad year seen the continuous heart-breaking news from my childhood country Syria. At the same time, it has been an exciting year as I established Platforms as a company with a new profile focused on sustainable development in its broad sense and engaged in the planning debate in the UK and internationally. Through Platforms, I believe I can best contribute to better cities and regions based on my extensive experiences and knowledge.

May 2016 be a year of health, peace, justice and fairness for everyone. Let us join our collective efforts bringing together our imagination, creativity, knowledge and resources to make this year a special one to boost prosperity and well-being. Let us work towards overcoming the challenges facing our communities, countries and environments making our places more caring and enjoyable.

Imagine if we find new methods to protect communities from natural disasters and develop means to reinforce communities' sustainability and resilience so they can overcome their challenges, and flourish.

Imagine if we succeed to manage resources in a positive way, and we join our efforts to demonstrate the benefit of shared prosperity, influencing decision, so instead of channeling resources to wars, channeling them to peace-making, to overcoming poverty and disease and to unfolding potentials everywhere. Imagine if we can use our resources to prevent desertification, help communities access clean water and food security, protect the environment and the nature, and ensure each child has a future that represents us and our aspirations...

Platforms thank its partners and supporters and look very much forward to new exciting and meaningful collaborations and projects, and to working together with you turning 2016 into a remarkable year!
