Rapporteur, Committee Member and Track Chair 15th World Conference Cities and Ports - Rotterdam, 5-7
Roudaina Al Khani has the pleasure to be appointed Rapporteur for the 15th World Conference Cities and Ports, Member of its Selection Committee and a Chair of its track on innovation in planning for joined port and city development.
In this session the participants will look at how joined flexible urban and port planning can reinforce the sustainability of port cities prompting active ports and successful water/city interface. They will explore how to create successful juxtaposition and mix of activities contributing to liveable and dynamic cities, how to resolve environmental challenges and provide the ground for environmental, social and business/industrial innovation and innovative management. Port cities' resilience facing climate change, bio-diversity and flexible design are other important themes. We will look into both the city and the regional scale.
The Conference is arranged by the Worldwide Network on Port Cities AIVP, the City of Rotterdam and the leading Port of Rotterdam and will assemble a great sum of distinguished knowledge bringing together port authorities, city mayors, professionals from different disciplines, including architects, engineers, planners, sociologists, etc, researchers and businesses.
